Vernon is situated on the banks of the River Seine on the border between Normandy and the Ile de France. Its location only 70 km from Paris in the lower Seine Valley, and its large road network  make it easily reachable by all kinds of transportation means.

A complete transport system

Vernon is the second largest town in the Eure departement, with a population of 25,000 and a total of 30,000 for the whole conurbation. It is located within an important transport system.
Road : It is only 70 km from Paris via the A13 motorway, exits 14 (Bonnières) and 16 (Douains). It is at the crossroads of the west Paris basin with the intersection of the RN15 and the RN181 (the Evreux - Beauvais trunk-road).

Rail : Vernon station is on the Paris / Rouen / Le Havre line and gives access to Paris (Saint-Lazare station) in 45 minutes.

Public transport : Coaches link Vernon with the main towns in the departement.

Urban transport : A bus service operates throughout the whole town.

River : The development of the Seine banks permits maritime transporters on the Paris-Le Havre link to stop-over near the town centre.
